Usually the idea of traipsing round a field on the weekend routing through sale items would conjure images of  flat shoes and casual clothing, but not for the Kardashians. Sisters Kim, 29, Kourtney, 31, and Khloe, 25, and their mom Kris all got dolled up to the nines to attend the Super Saturday 13 in the Hamptons, New York yesterday.

'Dragon' queen spits fire in style

May 21, 2010 |12:34 | Celebrities Fashion  By : Team X

'Dragon' queen spits fire in styleActress Qin Hailu has been making a name for herself (and not a good one) by criticizing fellow thespian Fan Bingbing, who wore a "dragon gown" for the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival last week.

On her micro-blog (China's version of Twitter) Qin claimed Fan demonstrated her overweening ambition by wearing the impressive dress at the French film event. The implication was that Fan was positioning herself as China's leading lady by wearing the typically Chinese creation on international stage. On Sunday, Fan told Sina.com she didn't care what people were saying about the dress - though it was featured on all the red carpet fashion blogs and was almost unanimously considered a big hit. She then mocked Qin by saying the actress wouldn't dare wear such a gown, inferring she doesn't have the figure or the charisma to carry it off.

"If this has anything to do with ambition, it is her ambition, not mine," Fan said. "I just wanted to show the world where I'm from by wearing the dragon dress."

Fan picked the robe herself and said that since most Westerners think Chinese women are delicate she wanted to set the record straight and wear something bold and powerful.

Samantha Harris designers runaway choiceThe face of Aboriginal model Samantha Harris has created a major stir on the Australian Fashion Week runway. The stunning beauty, who transformed herself from a beauty pageant hopeful who wore op shop clothes into a Vogue Australia covergirl, has emerged as the essential drawcard at Fashion Week, which kicked off in Sydney on Monday.

At just 19, Harris is scheduled to appear for 18 designers including Lisa Ho, Camilla, Dion Lee, Rachel Gilbert and Alex Perry, many of whom will use her to open their shows. She proved herself a fast-rising star by landing a Vogue Australia cover, 17 years after the magazine last featured an Aboriginal model in the coveted spot.

But she's no overnight success story. Harris started modelling when she was 13 and had worked her way up before Vogue Editor-In-Chief Kirstie Clements felt she had the maturity to be the face of the fashion bible's June issue.

Executives at Maggy London International filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Monday alleging they trademarked the name Muse in 2002, the same title Anderson gave her collection with couturier Richie Rich, which debuted last year.

Maggy London bosses claim they contacted the actress and made her aware of the trademark, but they allege she refused to drop it from her environmentally-friendly style line.

Pammie upsets press at Fashion Week

February 20, 2010 |12:41 | Celebrities Fashion  By : Team X

Pammie upsets press at Fashion WeekPamela Anderson left many frowning after arriving late at New York Fashion Week for a runway show held in her honour. The Baywatch actress was to be the star guest at designer Richie Rich's A Muse show, which almost landed in trouble when Anderson's plane was delayed and she arrived three hours late to the event.

"She showed up at 9.55 when the show was supposed to start at 9, and press people were there as early as 7 to interview her. People were yelling at door handlers and getting incredibly antsy, especially because the standing room was so packed,” the Daily Express quoted a source as telling.

"Some guests started storming out at 9.30, when the start of the show was nowhere in sight. They had shut the doors at 8.40 since it was so crowded so there were guests on the street who couldn't get in. They were outraged," the source added.

But the star was said to have made it up to the crowd with a dash of humour, telling reporters she was late after changing outfits at her hotel: "I got dressed - well, semi-dressed - before I got here."

Golden Globes fashion - Mariah brings her own globes, Tina Fey does Bo Peep

January 19, 2010 |11:33 | Celebrities Fashion  By : Team X

Golden Globes fashion Mariah brings her own globes, Tina Fey does Bo PeepThe funniest fashion commentary of the night came from E!'s Jay Manuel who noted that Mariah Carey, in her chest-baring black gown, had brought her own "golden globes" to the ceremony.

Worst-dressed male? Hands-down Quentin Tarantino, who said he took part of a Japanese tuxedo and part of an American tuxedo to make his outfit. Hybrid doesn't work on the red carpet.

Second-worst-dressed male? Mickey Rourke. Duh. Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family" gave Latinas everywhere a good name AND outshone all the stars of the big screen in a gray Carolina Herrera gown with a bustle trimmed in crimson.

Tina Fey should have let someone else hold her umbrella, as many of the other ladies did. Because wearing a ghastly ankle-length dress that looked like it had a hoop under it and beribboned heels, she looked like Little Bo Peep when she held that umbrella over her head.

Jennifer Garner in a beaded Versace number looked smokin' hot. Chloe Sevigny in a Valentino gown with huge ruffles that threatened to eat her face did not.

So who cares that the guy who helped her onto the stage ripped her dress by stepping on it? And what was up with that high, thigh-baring slit in Jennifer Aniston's gown? With "Friends" like that, who needs porn?
